Tehran (IP) - Iran's Army Air Force unveiled its first underground airbase Eagle 44 on Tuesday, February 7, 2023.

Iran PressIran news: The Chief of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces, Major General Mohamad Hossein Bagheri, and the Commander of Iran's Army Abdolrahim Mousavi visited Eagle 44. 

The underground airbase is capable of operationalizing different types of bombers, fighters, and drones. 

It is one of the several underground airbases of the army which has been established based on the operational needs of the force, taking the principles of civil defense into account in different parts of the country. 

The bases have provided the possibility of remote operations, increasing the strategic range for hitting distant targets.
