Iran Press/ Iran News: The French magazine recently held a cartoon contest in which it insulted the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
The protesting people, including the university students, called for the apology of the French Ambassador to Tehran and demanded his dismissal.
The protesters called on the French authorities to give a tough response to those involved in the issue. They also demanded that the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs put on the agenda the measures which will be taken to give a due response to the insulting magazine.
The desecration has triggered numerous criticisms from Iranian figures and entities, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs which summoned the French ambassador to Tehran, Nikolas Roche, to express strong condemnation.
People carried placards with messages condemning the blasphemy of the French magazine and chanted slogans in support of the Islamic Revolution's Leader Ayatollah Khamenei.
The French magazine has a black record for its insult to the Prophet of Islam, Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), the Spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Kanani said earlier, noting that Iran would hold France accountable for the new blasphemy.
