Tehran (IP) - The Head of the Iranian Telecommunication Infrastructure Company reported an extensive cyber attack on the Central Bank of Iran (CBI), which was repelled.

Iran PressIran news: Amir Mohammad Zadeh said that on Thursday evening, the Central Bank of Iran along with Bale and Rubika platforms were targeted by Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks.

Mohammad Zadeh said that these days, a large number of cyber attacks were concentrated on banks and financial institutions, internet providers, and Iran's telecommunication infrastructure, which were repelled.

The Head of Iran's Civil Defense Organization Brigadier-General Gholam-Reza Jalali said in October that Iran countered 120 heavy cyberattacks on infrastructure in that month, underlining that the enemy tried to use it in its propaganda campaign in this field, which was mostly lies.

As the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister said days ago, the US Department of Defense Pentagon plans to spend around $11 billion in the new year on cyberattacks on states.
