Tehran (IP) - The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) has reacted to a hacking attempt into the email server of one of its subsidiaries.

Iran PressIran News: In a statement on Sunday, the AEOI stated that the reports about the hacking of the email server of the Atomic Energy Production and Development Company were aimed at misleading public opinion and are a part of the media warfare.

The AEOI statement added: "Based on the report of the information technology department of Atomic Energy Production and Development Company, unauthorized access from a specific foreign country to the company's email system led to the publication of the content of some emails in cyberspace."

"Shortly after this, based on the planned arrangements and in the earliest time, the information technology department of the Atomic Energy Production and Development Company, took the necessary and preventive measures and examined the issue from various dimensions and submitted its preliminary report to the AEOI officials," it said.

According to AEOI, "the content in users' emails contains technical messages and routine and daily exchanges of emails."

"It is clear that the purpose of such illegal attempts, which is a desperate move, is to draw public attention and a part of a psychological warfare and is worthless," the AEOI statement concluded.
