Baghdad (IP) - Iraq's finance minister called for deepening and expanding relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Iran PressMiddle East: According to Iran Press News Agency, Iraqi Finance Minister Taif Sami Mohammed in a meeting with Mohammed Kazem Al-Sadegh, the Iranian ambassador to Baghdad, pointed to the depth of relations between Iraq and Iran, saying: "The Iraqi government wants to expand relations with Iran in all fields, especially financial and economic ones."

Appreciating the increasing efforts of the Islamic Republic of Iran in expanding mutual relations and coordination with Iraq, the Minister of Finance of Iraq considered these efforts to develop bilateral relations and open a new perspective of cooperation between the two countries.

Iran's ambassador to Iraq also praised the efforts and diligence of the finance minister of this country in order to strengthen the ties of friendship between the two sides.

The Iranian diplomat also emphasized the continued cooperation and partnership of the two countries in various fields in line with the interests of the two nations of Iran and Iraq.

Among the Arab countries of West Asia, Iraq has the most cultural and religious affinities with Iran.

Having the longest border among the neighbors (about 1258 km of land border and 351 km of water border), racial, historical, linguistic ties, religious commonalities and the existence of threats and common security and economic interests are considered important points in Iran-Iraq relations.
