Iran Press/ Africa: During the talks on Saturday, Mehdi Safari and Choguel Kokalla Maïga discussed cooperation in various fields including economy, agriculture, industry, trade, and health.
The Iranian deputy foreign minister elaborated on the capacities of the Islamic Republic, emphasizing Iran’s resolve to develop and promote all-out relations with African countries and the brotherly and Muslim state of Mali.“Fortunately, during a visit by Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian to Mali, the Joint Economic Commission was held successfully, and it has well drawn up the road map for the expansion of relations between us,” he said.
Safari said, “The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to share its experiences and achievements with Mali in various fields for the further development of the country.”
“Despite about four decades of American and Western pressures, the 8-year imposed war and cruel sanctions against our country, the Islamic Republic of Iran enjoys a prominent position today thanks to the efforts of the honorable people of Iran,” he said.
For his part, the Malian prime minister hailed the achievements of Iran in different areas. The premier said the Joint Commission has fortunately set the duties and tasks of different ministries, while the path of cooperation with the brotherly and Muslim country of Iran has been determined.
He said the reciprocal visits by various officials during the past year show the serious determination of the two countries to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various fields, expressing hope that more opportunities will be provided for exchanging views and benefiting from the Islamic Republic of Iran’s capabilities and experiences.
Earlier in the day, Mehdi Safari held a meeting with Malian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Abdoulaye Diop.
The two sides discussed the latest situation of commercial, economic, and industrial cooperation between the two countries.
Safari said, “Fortunately, the two countries’ Joint Economic Commission recently convened in Bamako, centered on the ministers of foreign affairs. The framework of cooperation in various fields was worked out and we are seriously following up on the approvals.”
He emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran is determined to strengthen its economic relations with the Muslim country of Mali.
For his part, the top Malian diplomat appreciated Iran’s commitment to developing cooperation with African countries, including the promotion of brotherly relations between the people and governments of Mali and Iran.
He said Mali is determined to expand all-out economic relations with Iran.
The foreign minister praised the Islamic Republic’s progress and said the visit by the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s economic delegation to Bamako following the successful holding of the Joint Commission showed the two countries’ joint determination to develop and strengthen relations.
