Islamabad (IP) - The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Pakistan strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Islamabad and sympathized with the victims' families.

Iran PressAsia: The press section of the Iranian embassy sent a message of condolence to the Pakistani nation and government and sympathized with the families of the victims of the terrorist attack. 

In a car blast that happened on Friday in Islamabad, the capital city of Pakistan, one police officer was killed, and four others were injured. 

Tahrik-i-Taliban Pakistan group claimed the responsibility for the terrorist attack. 

The incident led to a red alert state in Islamabad. 

The Pakistani Taliban formally called the Tehreek-e-Taliban-e-Pakistan, is an umbrella organization of various armed militant groups operating along the Afghan–Pakistani border. 

The terrorist group was formed in 2007 by Baitullah Mehsud; its current leader is Noor Wali Mehsud, who has publicly pledged allegiance to the Afghan Taliban.
