Kazemi Ghomi:

Mashhad (IP) - Special envoy of the Iranian President for Afghanistan Affairs said that half of the foreign investment made in Iran this year is related to Afghan investors, and today, when the country is facing difficulties in attracting foreign investment, the high investment capacity of Afghan citizens should be used to the best advantage.

Iran PressIran news: Hassan Kazemi Qomi, who has traveled to Mashhad, added on Thursday: "During the past years, the United Arab Emirates expelled 700 Afghan economic activists from this country, whose capital was estimated at around 30 billion dollars, but unfortunately we failed to attract this capital."

He continued: "We have a problem with attracting foreign capital. For example, if a foreign investor wants to bring his capital into the country, after entering, his capital will lose 15% of its value in the form of nominal currency calculation."

Special envoy of the Iranian President for Afghanistan said: "We should focus on opportunities for Afghan nationals, and some measures such as blocking the accounts of Afghan nationals in the country have given a big blow to the category of attracting foreign capital."

According to Iran Press, 1,600 companies owned by Afghan nationals in Mashhad have official licenses for economic activity.

The Association of Afghan Economic Activists in Razavi Khorasan has announced that the assets of Afghan businessmen and companies operating in the province are about one billion dollars.

According to the announcement of the General Department of Foreign Nationals and Immigrants of Khorasan Razavi, 30,000 work permits under the title of 'Work Card' have been distributed to the holders of Amish cards in the province, more than 95% of which are related to Mashhad.

Before the government change in Afghanistan and the Taliban's coming to power, Khorasan Razavi province was home to some 320,000 Afghan nationals with permits, passports, and travel cards.
