Tehran (IP) – Iran-China Comprehensive Cooperation Program meeting kicked off in Tehran on Tuesday in the presence of high-ranking officials of the parties.

Iran PressIran News: The two sides will review the strategies for reinforcing the implementation of the 25-year comprehensive cooperation program between Iran and China.

Mohammad Mokhber, Iran's First Vice President, and Hu Chunhua, the Chinese Vice Prime Minister, head the Iranian and Chinese delegations in the meeting.

The commitment to the fundamental interests of Iran and China as well as respecting the principles of international law, including respect for territorial integrity, are of particular emphasis to the Islamic Republic of Iran at the meeting.

Iran and China have expanded their ties in three macro-levels during the past years, namely the political-economic, security-defense, and geopolitical-strategic levels, with the signing of the 25-year strategic document being an important step towards completing this process.

Beijing supports national sovereignty, territorial integrity, national dignity of Iran

In the meeting, Iran's First Vice President said: "Iran and China have one voice and a single position against unilateralism of West domination, and good and constructive negotiations between the two countries regarding various issues are ongoing.

Mohammad Mokhbar described the relations between the two countries as long-standing and historical and said: "Iran and China's ties are essential, and the president of Iran also seriously follows the relations between the two sides."

Mokhber called the meeting between the presidents of Iran and China in Samarkand a turning point in the relations between the two countries and thanked the Chinese president for supporting Iran's presence in organizations such as Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).

"Iran and China have a single position in confronting unilateralism in the world," Iran's VP said.

Referring to Iran's oil and gas reserves and vast capacities in various sectors such as transit, the first vice president noted: "Tehran is ready to expand its cooperation with Beijing in various sectors such as energy, transit, and production."

"Due to the opening of the Chinese Consulate General in Bandar Abbas, the special economic zones of Qeshm, Chabahar, and Arvand can become areas for joint cooperation between Iranian and Chinese companies," said Mokhber.

"Despite the high volume of commercial and economic exchanges between Tehran and Beijing, the use of the national currency of the two countries is very little, and we must expand it," underscored the vice president.

He described preserving and respecting Iran’s territorial integrity as a sensitive and important issue for the officials and members of the Iranian nation and considered it necessary for all countries to observe this mutual and inviolable principle.

Meanwhile, Chunhua said that China's determination to develop comprehensive strategic relations with Iran will never change.

China supports the national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national dignity of Iran and fighting foreign interference, he added.

He urged the two sides to support each other decisively and strengthen their cooperation in fighting terrorism.

Referring to the 25-year cooperation plan of the two countries and the achievements of agreements, Hu Chunhua said: "These achievements are important and positive for both sides, which are the result of joint efforts, and Beijing is willing to strengthen its cooperation and coordination with Tehran for the development process."
