Tehran (IP) - Iran's Minister of Interior says the western borders of the country are calm, and the relevant organs have maintained security in the area.

On the sidelines of the weekly cabinet session on Wednesday, Ahmad Vahidi told Iran Press that despite the attempts of the foreign-based hostile groups to create insecurity in the western cities of the country, security had been maintained in the areas.

Vahidi referred to the visit of the Iraqi Prime Minister to Tehran and said that one of the pivotal issues discussed in the meetings was of a security nature, where it was emphasized that the terrorist attempts to insecure the two countries should be thwarted. 

He talked about the fact-finding committee formed in Iran to examine the life and property losses the rioters wreaked during the unrest in the country and pursue compensation for the harm. 

The minister said there was not a finalized estimation of the damages, but a significant part of the harm was caused by the rebels. 

In an interview with BBC, the US' former National Security Advisor John Bolton confessed that weapons from Iraq's Kurdistan region have been sent to the rebels in Iran.

The rioters destroyed public property, even ambulances, and set fire to houses and mosques and people in the streets. They carried out armed attacks in some cities, including Isfahan.

Mahsa Amini was a young Iranian woman who lost her life days after she was taken into a police station in the capital Tehran. 

According to the footage of the Iran police CCTVs camera, Mahsa Amini fainted at the police department in Tehran on Tuesday after being taken there for violation of dress codes along with some other women.

The 22-year-old girl from Kurdistan died in hospital on Friday, September 16, 2022 despite intensive medical care and resuscitation efforts.

In the recent disturbances, the political leaders of America and sometimes Europe, their media, as well as the Persian media supported by the West, abused the tragic event.
