Zahra Behrouz-Azar, Iran's Vice President for Women and Family Affairs, has arrived in Islamabad to attend the 9th OIC Women Ministers Conference, where she is set to outline Iran's policies and hold high-level bilateral talks focusing on regional peace and women empowerment. 

Arriving in the Pakistani capital on Sunday, Behrouz-Azar is representing the Islamic Republic of Iran at the two-day summit, hosted under the theme of "Social, Economic, and Political Empowerment of Women in OIC Member States."

During the conference, she is scheduled to deliver a speech detailing Iran's actionable programs for elevating women's roles in social, economic, and political spheres, while proposing strategies to expand cooperation among Islamic countries.

On the sidelines of the summit, the Iranian VP held a meeting with Pakistan's Federal Minister for Human Rights, Azam Nazeer Tarar. Behrouz Azar explicitly thanked Pakistan for its constructive diplomatic role, mediation efforts, and facilitation aimed at achieving a regional ceasefire, appreciating Islamabad's contribution to peace. 

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening the historic, religious, and brotherly ties between the two nations and agreed to enhance joint efforts for the protection and promotion of women's rights.

Furthermore, the two officials emphasized the urgent need to adopt a coordinated strategy within the OIC framework to effectively highlight and address the severe challenges faced by women in Palestine and Afghanistan. 

Behrouz-Azar welcomed Pakistan's upcoming two-year chairmanship of the OIC Ministerial Conference on Women, expressing strong confidence in Islamabad's ability to advance women's empowerment across the Muslim world.
