Tehran(IP)- The national football team of Iran (Team Melli) won the game against Nicaragua 1-0 in a preparatory match which was the last game of the team before traveling to Qatar for the World Cup 2022.

Iran Press/Iran news: The game was Carlos Quieroz's side's last scheduled warm-up friendly ahead of facing England in their opening World Cup match on November 21.

The Iranian national football team played against the Nicaraguan team in a preparatory match at Azadi Stadium at 19:35 today (Thursday), which ended with the victory of Carlos Queiroz's lads.

Mehdi Torabi scored the only goal of this game in the 15th minute.

Due to the fact that this game was held outside of FIFA's schedule, the Iranian national team did not have its legionary players, except for the players working in Qatar, and during the game, it used young players along with the adult players.

Meanwhile, the national team managed to achieve a slight victory in this game, which did not create much opportunity on the opponent's goal, and on the other hand, the unknown Nicaraguan players managed to reach Iran's penalty area many times and even threatened the goal.
