Iran's Team Melli, in a friendly match against Uruguay, finally succeeded in winning the game 1-0 by Mehdi Taremi's superb goal, as the game was considered the most serious test for Team Melli on the way to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Iran PressEurope: The national football team of Iran(Team Melli) lined up against the national team of Uruguay from 19:30 today on Friday in the framework of a preparatory match at the NV Arena in Sankt Pölten, Austria.

Iranian International Mehdi Taremi scored for Iran in the 79th minute of the match, and for Uruguay, the team tasted its first defeat under the head coach of Diego Alonso.

Uruguay had won six victories and one draw in their last seven matches (four matches in the World Cup qualifying round and three preparatory matches) but lost to the Iranian national team.

Iran's Team Melli will play against Senegal in their next friendly match.

Recently, former Real Madrid coach Carlos Queiroz agreed to a deal to lead Iran's Team Melli at the World Cup in Qatar in less than three months.
