Tehran (IP) - The Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs said the production of opium in Afghanistan had increased 50 times after the US invaded the country.

Iran PressIran news: Ali Bagheri Kani said that when the US left Afghan soil, it brought about further insecurity and more extensive terrorism. 

He made the remarks on Saturday at the international conference '21st century and a world free from American domination' held in Tehran. 

Bagher said that the Americans invaded Afghanistan to bring democracy, but after 20 years of their invasion, they left nothing but insecurity and poverty for the country. 

He then referred to the US invasion of Iraq and said: "What we see today in Iraq is different from what the Americans expected to gain in either the legislation, sovereignty, or general public and social atmosphere."

Donald Trump, the US former president, said that his administration spent 7,000 billion dollars in Iraq, but when he wanted to go to the country, he must go overnight and furtively. 

"The US resorts to force in order to achieve its objectives, but the use of force cannot help the US to realize its goals, and the issue shows the ultimate decline the arrogant power and the unipolar order in the world," the top Iranian diplomat.
