Urmia (IP) – Iran's Judiciary announced Monday that 10 people had been arrested in West Azarbaijan Province on espionage charges and links with the Mossad.

Iran PressIran News: In a statement on Monday, Iran's Judiciary announced arresting ten people with links with the Israeli regime's Mossad in West Azarbaijan Province, northwest Iran.

The detainees, whose main actions were to identify intelligence forces spearheading the fight against the Israeli regime in West Azarbaijan Province were captured through intelligence surveillance.

The team members were in direct contact with several Mossad officers.

With the direct guidance of Mossad agents, the team members identified people with links to Iranian intelligence agencies and kidnapped, beat and threatened them to obtain information.

These people had received money from Israeli agents and Mossad officers on several occasions for the missions they had completed.

They had conducted operations in West Azarbaijan, Tehran and Hormozgan Provinces.

"The members of the group have set fire to the cars and houses of some people related to the security institutions of the Islamic Republic of Iran. These people had even tried to physically eliminate and assassinate the security and intelligence forces of the Islamic Republic in some cases, but luckily they were unsuccessful," the statement read.

The Judiciary statement added that a lawsuit had been filed against the ten people arrested, and investigations are underway in Urmia, the capital of West Azarbaijan Province.

According to the lawsuit, 4 of these people are accused of degeneracy.
