Tehran (IP)- CEO of Iranian Youth Cinema Society, as well as president of the 39th Tehran International Short Film Festival, in a message commemorating the latest edition of this event, acknowledged the short film community as a family unfamiliar with conflicts and distancing.

 

Iran PressIran News: In a statement addressing the Festival's audiences and artists, Mehdi Azarpendar wrote, "Festival means the ritual of meeting and discussion, a rite of socialization.

The audience hastens to watch the films, and the filmmaker comes to meet the viewer, and it is debated that exalt both of them. Tehran International Short Film Festival is a rite of charity among the youth in this land; especially after two hard years of isolation due to the Covid-19 pandemic and social distancing protocols, the cinema of youth and the short film community is a family unfamiliar with conflicts and distancing.

With the Lord's blessing, Tehran International Short Film Festival is one step away from its 40-year-old rite of passage. The 39th edition of this event heralds the motto of "Variety in Genre and Multiplicity in Tastes," attended by filmmakers who have enthusiastically donned new filmmaking outfits. 

39th Tehran Short Film Festival to start Wednesday

Just like the previous 38 years, the event will be held, inviting all to relish this cinematic feast of thought and debate. We hope that the tradition of discussion is not taken for granted in the harshest times."

Tehran International Short Film Festival (TISFF) is one of the most prominent and prestigious short film events all across the world and is Oscar-qualified; the 39th round of this Festival presided over by Mehdi Azarpendar and held by Iranian Youth Cinema Society, heralding the motto of "Variety in Genre" with a focus on the subject of the genre, consists of two competition categories of national and international cinema.

With in-person participation, the Festival is slated to screen more than 60 shorts, including fiction, documentary, animation, and instrumental films made by directors from 35 countries all around the globe, besides 99 short films by Iranian filmmakers all across the country.

The jury comprises members from Portugal, Turkey, Lithuania, Romania, and Iran, and the international cinema instructors' summits will be held from October 19-24, 2022, at Mellat Cinema Complex in Tehran.
