Iran Press/ Asia: In an interview with Iran Press' correspondent in Nur-Sultan, Hojatoleslam Mehdi Imanipour stated that some people try to show that religion has lost its role in society, but with the COVID outbreak and the formation of popular mobilization to help the people, it showed that religion still plays a role in society.
Imanipour also talks about Iran's proposal to the 7th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which is to establish a 'Religions Pathology Studies Center.
Some statistical centers claim that the people and society no longer referred to religions, he noted, saying that if proper survey and statistics projects were formed, the prominent role of religion in society would be clearly defined.
He said the congress was an excellent opportunity to expand religious cooperation between Iran and other religious institutions worldwide.
The head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization of Iran added that the Policy Council for Religious Dialogues in Iran had been in dialogue with various religious organizations worldwide, including the Vatican, for 30 years.
Iran-Kazakhstan cultural ties to grow
Stating that the policy of the Iranian administration is to broaden cooperation with its neighbors, the Iranian official pointed out that during the visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Iran, several cooperation documents were inked, including cultural cooperation between the two countries.
Imanipour added that with the signing of these documents and the 14-day visa waiver between Iran and Kazakhstan, the mutual relations were expected to expand in all fields, especially the cultural sector.
He stressed that there is good academic cooperation between Iran and Kazakhstan, especially in the field of Iranology, with prestigious universities in Kazakhstan, such as Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and Eurasia University.
The Iranian official pointed out that during the visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Tehran, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution emphasized the formation of a scientific committee for dialogue about Farabi's works and the expansion of scientific cooperation.
Abu Nasr Farabi, known in the West as Alpharabius, was a renowned early Iranian-Islamic philosopher and jurist who wrote in political philosophy, metaphysics, ethics, and logic.
He said that the scientific committee of Farabi cooperation between Iran and Kazakhstan would be formed soon, and it is expected that good cooperation would be done in connection with the publication of Farabi's works and their translation into the Kazakh language.
