Nur-Sultan (IP) - Pope Francis said that all traditional religions aim to promote friendship, peace, tranquility, and social security.

Iran PressAsia: Speaking at the 7th Congress of Leaders of World & Traditional Religions, Pope Francis said that the leaders of Abrahamic and traditional religions have a historic role in the current world, pointing to the necessity of efforts of spiritual leaders to deal with extremism, violence, and terrorism.

Religious leaders and traditional religions of 60 countries gathered in the form of 130 religious, political, and cultural delegations to participate in the 7th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions from Wednesday in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan.

The leader of the world's Catholics stated that extremism in all religions results from a lack of attention to religion and harsh readings and said that Christianity, Islam, and other traditional religions have originally emerged to promote friendship, peace, tranquility, and social security.

Pope Francis emphasized that if we want a peaceful world where followers of all religions can live peacefully and in friendship, the roots of violence and extremism must be dried up.
