IP- The Iranian foreign minister’s envoy, who has traveled to the Iraqi city of Najaf for the purpose of investigating the situation of the Arbaeen pilgrims, met with the head of the Alavi Shrine and discussed cooperation with Iraqi officials.

Iran PressMiddle East: In a meeting with Seyyed Issa Khorasan, the Iranian deputy foreign minister underlined the importance of reviving the Arbaeen ceremonies and using this opportunity for synergizing and bolstering ties between Iran and Iraq.

He then thanked the Iraqi government and people, especially officials at the Alavi Shrine, on behalf of Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian for using all their capacities and possibilities to serve Iranian pilgrims.

The Iranian foreign minister’s envoy then referred to the huge number of Iranian pilgrims that have traveled to the holy sites of Iraq this year after a two-year hiatus.

Mohammad Fath Ali underscored that the existing problems will be alleviated and resolved thanks to coordination and cooperation between different institutions of Iran and Iraq.206
