Tehran (IP) - The Head of Iran's Center for Scientific and Industrial Research announced the Ayat Satellite's development to predict earthquakes.

Iran PressIran news: Ayat satellite is planned to be placed in the earth's orbit to transmit information related to coming incidents such as floods, earthquakes, and landslides. Hossein Zamanian said the new satellite was being developed based on the experienced achieved in the construction of the Mesbah Satellite. 

The Head of Iran's Center for Scientific and Industrial Research noted that the new Ayat satellite would be applied for predicting earthquakes. 

Khayyam was the recent satellite Iran launched successfully from the Baikonur space station in Kazakhstan into space on August 9.

Versions 2, 3, and 4 of the Khayyam satellite are also supposed to be built in Iran with the cooperation of Russia.
