Tehran (IP) - Iran's Chief of the Armed Forces Staff says that with the UN military sanctions being lifted on Iran' the country has no limitations to expand military cooperation.

Iran PressIran News: General Zaheer Ahmad Babar, the commander of the Pakistan Air Force, visited Tehran at the invitation of Brigadier General Hamid Vahedi, the commander of the Air Force of the Islamic Republic of Iran. 

Receiving the Commander of Pakistan's Air Force General Zahir Ahmad on Thursday in Tehran, Major General Mohammad-Hossein Bagheri said that the UN arms embargo was lifted about a year and a half ago and that the country was already tackling the US unilateral sanctions.   

General Bagheri told the commander of the Pakistani air force that Iran has no restrictions on expanding military cooperation with Pakistan.

Stressing Islamabad's demand for the shore-up of the cooperation with Tehran, General Zaheer Ahmad, for his part, said that the two countries' military relations could have a positive effect on the relations between the two countries' statesmen and diplomats.

Expanding military and defense cooperation between Iran and Pakistan as the security of the two countries borders is improving is a significant development.

During the past few years, cooperation has been on the agenda of Tehran and Islamabad. It has been updated with the mutual visits of the two countries military officials.
