Tehran(IP)- Iran's President, in a phone call with the Malaysian Prime Minister, said there are capacities for expanding ties between the country and Malaysia.

Iran PressIran news: Expressing his satisfaction with the excellent relations established between Iranian and Malaysian business companies, Iran's president Ebrahim Raisi said: "There are various issues for the development of bilateral cooperation, which I hope we will witness their realization in the shadow of the interaction and efforts of the authorities of the two countries."

According to Iran Press, Ebrahim Raisi, on Tuesday, in a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of Malaysia Ismail Sabri Yaakob, while congratulating him and the people of the country on the National Day of Malaysia, said: "Malaysia has a significant position in the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran and there are various capacities for the development of cooperation between the two friendly countries."

While expressing hope for the expansion of political, economic, and cultural relations for the benefit of the two nations in the shadow of cooperation and empathy, the president stated: "Various issues for the development of cooperation in the fields of economics, science, research, new technologies and finalizing trade agreements are on the agenda that I hope we will witness its realization in the shadow of interaction and efforts of the authorities of the two countries."

Referring to the excellent relations established between the commercial companies of the two countries, Raisi clarified: "The volume of commercial relations between Iran and Malaysia is not proportional to the existing capacities, and there is a lot of room for expansion."

Iran, essential trade partner for Malaysia in Asia

In the telephone conversation, the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Ismail Sabri Yaakob, while appreciating Ebrahim Raisi's good attention to expanding the relations between the two countries and congratulating them on the national day of his country, considered the bilateral relations as a source of pride for the government and nation of Malaysia and said: "The Islamic Republic of Iran, as one of the important and influential countries, has always been a significant supporter for the Islamic Ummah."

While expressing his satisfaction with the development of relations between the two countries, the Prime Minister of Malaysia added: " The Islamic Republic of Iran is a very important business partner for Malaysia in Asia, and we are very happy that the trade relations between the two countries have grown significantly in the last year."

While condemning the policy of cruel sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran, Sabri Yaakob also stated that the current political would ensure the further development of Iran-Malaysia relations in various fields.
