Iran PressIran news: According to Iran Press, citing Iraq's Nas news agency, Ahmed Al-Sahaf, the spokesman of the Iraqi Foreign Ministry, announced in a short statement:

Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein plans to travel to Tehran on Monday and meet with high-ranking officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

In this statement, no more details about the goals of this trip have been mentioned.

It is likely that the developments in Iraq and the mediation of this country in connection with the relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia will be among the goals of this trip.

The ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kuwait said last Wednesday that due to the recent developments in Iraq, the sixth round of negotiations between Tehran and Riyadh is awaiting the announcement of the readiness of Iraq as a host country.

Mohammad Irani, the ambassador of Iran to Kuwait, stated in an interview with the Kuwaiti newspaper "Al-Rai": The sixth round of negotiations between Iran and Saudi Arabia was supposed to be held in Iraq last month, and naturally, after the end of this round of negotiations, there will be a meeting between Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein -Amir Abdollahian and his Saudi counterpart Faisal Bin Farhan were led by the host country for a consultation.

Irani added: "After the recent events and developments in Iraq, it is natural to wait for the host country to be ready to host and manage the negotiations."

Iran's ambassador to Kuwait continued: "The issue of resuming the dialogue by holding the sixth round of negotiations has been agreed, but this is pending the provision of a suitable platform for negotiations in Iraq. The respective committees of Iran and Saudi Arabia are ready to resume negotiations."

He also emphasized: "Iranian officials are very optimistic about the progress of the negotiation process, but we must wait for Iraq's invitation from both sides to resume the sixth round of negotiations after the end of the current events in this country."

On August 22, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, in response to a question about Iran-Saudi Arabia negotiations, said:

"Our relations with Saudi Arabia are based on bilateral issues. We have many common issues with Saudi Arabia both in the bilateral and regional areas. And we believe that the talks to resume official relations between the two countries will provide the interests of both sides."

He added: It is natural that there are differences of opinion and complex issues, but so far, the process of negotiations has been positive, and we have taken very good steps forward, but the resumption of relations is not a one-day action, where negotiations are immediately carried out, and the next step takes place directly.

He further explained that the important thing is that there is political will, and Iran has taken steps in this direction, and so far, we have seen reciprocal steps from the Saudi side, and we should be optimistic that we can take an effective step forward in the path of communication and diplomatic talks. Fortunately, the situation in the region is good, and we can hope that the regional relations between Iran and its neighbors are moving in a better direction.
