Tehran (IP) - The National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) chief said the country’s gas export revenue rose by 64% in the first year since President Raisi took office in September 2021.

Iran PressIran News: Addressing an inauguration ceremony on the occasion of the government week to launch several gas supply projects on Sunday, Majid Chegini announced that in the first year of President Raisi's administration, a 64% increase in gas export income was realized 503 kilometers new pipelines organized.

Cheif of the National Iranian Gas Company elaborated on the inauguration of projects in the Government Week: "Today we are witnessing the operation of gas pipeline transmission, gas supply to 16 cities, 1,091 villages and as many as 1,959 industries in the region with a credit of Rls.103,000 billion."

The deputy minister of petroleum for gas affairs said: "In this ceremony, the implementation operations of gas supply to 9 cities and 928 villages and more than 2,000 industries will also begin with a credit of more than Rls. 53 billion rials."

Chegini added: "More than 75% of the country's energy mix with 30 million subscribers, including domestic, commercial, industrial and agricultural, is dependent on natural gas, so it is northworthy that gas industry is the heart of the country's economy."
