Dar es Salaam (IP) – Iranian foreign minister on Thursday termed boosting economic ties with African countries, especially Tanzania, as one of Iran's foreign policy priorities.

Iran PressAfrica: Hossein Amir-Abdollahian made the remarks in the joint meeting of economic and trade activists from Iran and Tanzania.

He said Tanzania always has a special place in Iran's foreign policy.

The Iranian foreign minister noted that the people and officials of both countries have a positive view of each other.

"Setting up a joint economic commission of the two countries aiming at pursuing our priority goals and plans can be the starting point for our cooperation," he said.

A group of economic experts and activists from Iran and Tanzania have participated in the economic joint meeting.
