Iran Press/ Middle East: In an interview with Iran Press on the occasion of the anniversary of the burning of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in 1969, which the Organization of Islamic Cooperation declared as the International Day of Mosques, Dawood Shahab stated that this fire is a reminder of the responsibility and duties of Muslims to protect the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
He noted that the fire was still burning in the Al-Aqsa Mosque and had not stopped. The attack, threat and excavation of the Israeli regime continues in the mosque.
Shahab pointed out that there is a Zionist plan to divide the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and for the protection of the mosque, the significant presence of worshipers and the sit-in of Palestinians in the mosque is necessary.
He added that it is necessary to defend Al-Quds and pursue this issue at the Arab and Islamic levels in all sectors, especially religious and Islamic authorities in Egypt's Al-Azhar, Iraq's Najaf and Iran's Qom.
The 21st of August is named the International Day of Mosques because the Zionists set fire to Al-Aqsa Mosque in the occupied city of Al-Quds on this day.
