Tehran (IP) – Chief of Iran's Anti-Narcotics Police announced that the force had dismantled an international band of cocaine smuggling and transit from South American countries to Iran and detained two foreign nationals.

Iran PressIran News: Brigadier-General Majid Karimi made the announcement on Saturday, highlighting that following the cooperation and information exchange with the police of one of the countries on the transit route, the Iranian anti-narcotics police was informed about the activities of the drug smuggling gang by the nationals of some countries in South America.

He noted that the smugglers intended to import narcotics through Imam Khomeini International Airport into Iran.

Karimi pointed out that two foreign nationals, who planned to transit more than six kilograms of cocaine into Iran, were captured during the operation.
