Khorasan Razavi (IP) - The Secretary-General of Iran's Drug Control Headquarters says the Taliban must prove that they are fighting against smuggling in practice.

Iran PressIran news: Eskandar Momeni said on Wednesday: "The Taliban have said that they are controlling drugs from entering Iran, but the approach must also be proven in practice."

"Iran expects the Taliban's counter-narcotics policies to be proven in practice, but Iran has made all the necessary predictions for all the hypotheses, whether or not the import of narcotics will increase," Momeni said.

He made the remarks on the sidelines of the Coordinating Council for Combating Drugs meeting in Khorasan Razavi Province, northeastern Iran.
