Tehran (IP) - Referring to the leading role of the Islamic Council in global, Islamic and Asian parliamentary assemblies, Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs called parliamentary diplomacy an accelerator and complement to state diplomacy.

Iran PressIran news: According to Iran press' Monday morning report, Mohammadreza Majidi, Secretary General of the Association of Asian Parliaments (APA) and CEO of the Iranian Association for Cooperation with UNESCO, in a meeting with Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, expressed his views on the latest actions of the APA Secretariat and the schedule of upcoming parliamentary meetings.

He also presented his views and opinions in the field of cooperation on cultural heritage and rich tourism of Iran with UNESCO.

In this meeting, Amir- Abdollahian also took into account the ancient civilization, diversity, extent and wealth of Iran in the areas of valuable cultural heritage and tourism.

He also emphasized the readiness of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in helping to promote cooperation with cultural sectors and international mechanisms aimed at cultural affairs, including UNESCO.

Referring to the leading role of the Islamic Council in the world, Islamic and Asian parliamentary assemblies, the Minister of Foreign Affairs appreciated the Speaker of Iran's Parliament Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf and the members for his special attention to  parliamentary diplomacy.

Amir -Abdollahian called parliamentary diplomacy an accelerator and a complement to state diplomacy.
