Hormozgan (IP) – A 5.7-magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale shook Bandar-e Khamir in the southern Iranian Province of Hormozgan on Saturday afternoon.

Iran PressIran News: The quake occurred at 08:54 pm (local time) on Saturday near Bandar Abbas, the capital of Hormozgan Province.

According to the preliminary reports, the earthquake's epicenter was at a depth of 10 kilometers.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or severe damage.

People are spending the night outside their homes for fear of aftershocks.

Hormozgan Province in southern Iran on the Persian Gulf has witnessed several quakes over the past few months.
