Tehran (IP) - Iran's Minister of Energy announced numerous contracts for constructing and developing power plants and maintaining electricity production units in Iraq.

Iran PressIran News: Considering Iran's self-sufficiency in the technical knowledge of power plant engineering, Ali Akbar Mehrabian, Iran's Minister of Energy, said that the construction of 1950 megawatt power plants by Iranian companies with the investment of the Iraqi side has been implemented and also Iranian knowledge-based companies from the private sector are also implementing the construction of 1700 MW of power plants in this country.

Stating that Iran is the first power in West Asia's electricity production, Mehrabian said: "Moving towards concluding long-term strategic contracts in the electricity sector is one of the axes of the dynamic regional diplomacy of the Iranian government, which has brought brilliant results for the country."

Iran's Minister of Energy stated: "According to international reports, Iran has the largest electricity production and distribution capacity among West Asian countries and is considered the most powerful country in terms of electricity in the region. This issue will continue with the record-breaking increase in power plant capacity this year.
