Iran Press/ Asia: Ali Akbar Mehrabian, Iranian Minister of Energy, traveled to Baku at the head of a delegation to meet high-ranking officials of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Tuesday evening.
In the meeting of Mehrabian with Mustafayev, the two sides noted the existing high-level political dialogue between the two countries. They emphasized the importance of the meeting between President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi held in Ashgabat on June 29.
The successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran in various directions, especially in trade-economic, transport, energy, and cultural fields, were noted in the meeting.
The role of regular contacts and mutual visits in developing relations was highly appreciated.
During the conversation, the two sides also pointed out the practical cooperation in the energy field. They also discussed the works carried out towards connecting the electricity systems of the two countries.
The two sides also exchanged views on the construction of "Khudafarin" and "Giz Galasi" hydro junctions and hydroelectric power plants on the Aras River, as well as several new projects to be implemented, taking into account the new realities that have emerged in the region.
During the meeting, they also discussed prospects for further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields.
