Tehran (IP)- Before traveling to Turkmenistan to attend the sixth summit of the Caspian littoral states, the President said: "The Caspian Sea is the heritage and capital of the littoral states, which benefit more than 270 million people from this sea."

Iran PressIran news: The Sixth Summit of the Caspian littoral states will be held on June 29 in Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, with the presidents of the five littoral states.

Explaining the purpose of his visit to Turkmenistan, Ebrahim Raisi said before his departure: "We are going to Ashgabat at the invitation of Turkmenistan's president to attend the Caspian Sea Littoral States Summit."


Raisi also stated that the Caspian Sea is a common heritage for the coastal states: "In addition to the legal regime of the Caspian Sea, cooperation in the field of transportation and management of Caspian Sea resources and preventing the presence of foreigners is emphasized by all the littoral states."

Moreover, he noted that dialogue with the leaders of the Caspian Sea Littoral States Summit was also on his agenda. Also, the north-south Caspian route is one of the most important topics at the summit.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, also participated in the foreign ministers of the Caspian Sea Littoral States Summit in Ashgabat yesterday.

President Raisi traveled to Ashgabat on November 27 last year to attend the 15th summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).
