Tehran (IP)- The Islamic Republic of Iran's Customs Administration (IRICA) spokesman announced a 29 percent growth in trade between Iran and Kazakhstan.

Iran PressIran news: "Last year, in the Iranian calendar (from March 20, 2021, to March 20, 2022), about 729,000 tons of goods worth more than $ 265 million were exchanged between Iran and Kazakhstan, which shows a growth of 71% in weight and 29% in value compared to the year earlier." said Seyed Ruhollah Latifi, spokesman for Iran's customs.

Latifi added: out of the total trade of 729 thousand tons of goods between Iran and Kazakhstan, Iran exported more than 512 thousand tons (more than 187 million dollars), which increased by 51% in weight and 11% in value, and also imported 217 thousand tons ($ 78 million), which increased by 141% in weight and 108% in value.

According to Latifi, agricultural, livestock and food products, construction materials, home appliances, petroleum products, electronics, industrial machinery, bags, shoes and clothing, minerals, and agricultural equipment were Iran's exports to Kazakhstan last year.

As the President of Kazakhstan was visiting Tehran, a train with 42 wagons containing sulfur from Kazakhstan entered Iran through Turkmenistan and the Incheh Borun border. It will continue to Turkey after crossing the Razi border in West Azerbaijan province.
