Tehran (IP) – Iran's Minister of Information and Communications Technology traveled to Geneva on Monday to attend the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS).

Iran PressEurope: Issa Zare'pour, accompanied by the head of the Iranian Information Technology Organization and the head of the ministry's international center, traveled to Geneva, the headquarters of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), to attend the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS).

The 2022 World Summit on the Information Society will be held online from March 15 to June 3, and in-person from May 30 to June 3.

This year's summit aims to regulate public access to information networks and establish basic rules for integrating the goals of the information society and completing international protocols.

The Iranian Minister of Information and Communications Technology will address the High Panel on Tuesday and will also attend a roundtable of ministers participating in the summit.

On the sidelines of the summit, Zare'pour will meet with ITU Secretary-General Houlin Zhao and will also meet with ministers and deputy ministers from Japan, Lithuania, India, Kazakhstan, Bangladesh, Romania and Nigeria.
