Tehran (IP) - An official at Iran's health ministry announced that at the meeting of the World Health Assembly, issues of health priority in the world, including Iran's successful experience in controlling the COVID-19 and vaccination will be discussed.

Iran PressIran News: Statistics by the Iranian ministry of health show that the number of COVID-19 death cases in Iran has been reported in single digits in recent days.

As of Saturday, nearly 65 million Iranians have received the first dose, over 57 million the second dose and 27.5 million people the third dose of the coronavirus vaccine. The total number of vaccines injected in Iran has neared 150 million doses.

Mohammad Hossein Niknam, Director General of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Health announced that Bahram Einollahi, Minister of Health of Iran will be present at the World Health Assembly.

"This summit is a good opportunity to exchange views on health achievements, and Iran, as an independent country, is present at the summit," he said.

Niknam added that the World Health Assembly is held every year in Geneva, Switzerland to review the health priorities of member countries.

The Director-General of International Cooperation of the Ministry of Health also said: "Experiences and achievements in the field of health will be discussed in the World Health Assembly, and the achievement of Iran as a country that has reduced the number of coronavirus deaths from 700 to single digits per day, will be in the center of attention at this meeting."
