Rome (IP) – The Italians once again staged large-scale demonstrations in the country's major cities against the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).

Iran PressEurope: Thousands of Romans rallied in the capital's central streets on Friday evening, chanting slogans against NATO's aggressive policies and calling for an end to arms shipments to Ukraine. They also called for peace to prevail in the country.

The Italian government ordered a third military shipment to Ukraine a few days ago.

Italian demonstrators have condemned Prime Minister Mario Draghi's move; sending more military supplies to Ukraine.

A number of Italian demonstrators also criticized Sweden and Finland for requesting membership in NATO, chanting anti-NATO slogans.

Sweden and Finland recently applied for NATO membership; the issue has been met with a sharp reaction from Russia and the opposing stance of some countries.

Italian demonstrators have already called for their country to leave NATO.

The war in Ukraine commenced on February 24, 2022, and so far, various countries have sent weapons to Kyiv.
