Iran Press/ Europe: Italian protesters say the United States and other North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) members are fanning the flames of war by sending weapons to Ukraine.
The war in Ukraine has been going on since February 24, and so far several countries have sent weapons to Kyiv. On April 9, 2022, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson once again took to the streets of Kyiv to promise the President of Ukraine that more military aid would be provided to the country.
The demonstrators also criticized the Italian government's stance on following the United States and sending military equipment to Ukraine, calling it unconstitutional and against the national interest of their country.
Speakers at the protests accused the government of aligning itself with NATO and US belligerent goals.
Last week, nearly a thousand people marched in the northern Italian city of Milan against NATO, calling for the dismantling of all US and NATO military bases in Italy.
Protestors demanded Italy's withdrawal from the NATO.
