Tehran (IP) - The UN Special Rapporteur has said that all must be aware that any action taken against Iran is a violation of human rights.

Iran PressIran news: The press briefing of the Special Rapporteur on the negative impact was held on Wednesday chaired by Alena Douhan in Tehran on Wednesday evening May 18, 2022.

In response to Iran Press on what is her assessment of the extraterritorial effects of the US unilateral actions on the Iranian people, Elena Douhan said: "I can give them concrete examples that human rights have been violated, they know what harm these sanctions have brought on."

Douhan told IP that after the withdrawal of the United States from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), sanctions became tougher and were imposed on, for example, insurance for goods and bank transfers even universities, sports, and technology.

"As with the medicines and food, even the United Nations itself could not deliver these items, and Iran's income was limited to do so," she added.

Douhan said: "Not all countries should violate their international obligations, so we must be aware that any action taken against Iran is a violation of human rights. I do not think the sanctions will be lifted so quickly, but I will try to do so."
