Tehran (IP) - Secretary-General of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) says Iran has had a positive contribution to this community.

Iran PressIran News: Mohamed Hamel said that for more than 25 years, the Iran Oil Show had positioned Iran's energy industry as one of the best and strong in the international arena. 

Hamel outlined that Iran was one of the first countries to reclaim sovereignty over its petroleum resources.

He noted that Iran was a founder of OPEC (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries) and was considered one of the largest natural gas reserves in the world, enjoys a prominent position in the energy world, and stood at the very foundation of GECF in 2001.

On Friday, the 26th Iran International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition kicked off with 1,244 domestic and foreign companies from 11 countries at Tehran’s permanent fairgrounds and will open till Monday, May 16, 2022.

Italy, Spain, UAE, South Korea, Switzerland, Germany, Ukraine, South Africa, and Belgium participate in the event, and high-profile representatives of the foreign companies.
