Tehran (IP) - The official welcoming ceremony of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Emir of Qatar was held on Thursday.

Iran PressIran News: The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, welcomed the "Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani," at the Saadabad Complex in Tehran.

The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, arrived in Tehran today (Thursday) at the head of a high-ranking political and economic delegation to meet with senior officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The Emir of Qatar has traveled to Tehran at the official invitation of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Bilateral talks between the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Emir of Qatar, consultations between the high delegations of the two countries, and participation in a joint press conference have been among the plans of the Emir of Qatar for a one-day visit to Tehran.

Interference of foreign countries, detrimental to the region's security

Iran's President, in his remarks, also added: "The intervention of foreign countries and Westerners in the region does not create security."

The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, stating that Tehran and Doha have common views on resolving regional issues, added: "The siege of Yemen should be broken as soon as possible and the people of this country should decide for their country."

"The people of Afghanistan must also have an inclusive government in relation to their own country that can include all political groups and all ethnicities and create lasting security in this country," Raisi said.

Raisi also said about Palestine: "The siege of the people of the Gaza Strip should be broken and the horrific crimes committed by the Zionist regime should end."

Raisi expressed his condolences on the martyrdom of "Shirin Abu Aqla", a Palestinian journalist who was shot dead by Israeli soldiers yesterday, and said: "Such crimes can not be a security for the Zionist regime in any way, but such crimes will increase the public hatred for the crimes of the Israeli regime."

The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran traveled to Doha in February 2022 at the official invitation of the Emir of Qatar to

attend the Summit of Gas Exporting Countries, during which 14 cooperation documents between Iran and Qatar were signed by the officials of the two countries.

The development of relations with neighbors and countries in the region and friends has been declared the main priority of the Iranian government's foreign policy.

Due to its geographical location, Iran has 15 countries in its neighborhood and activating all economic, trade, industrial, cultural, and tourism capacities in relations with neighbors and countries in the region will lead to the development of bilateral and multilateral relations.

Qatar is one of the target countries with priority in Iran's foreign policy, and a review of the history of their relations shows that relations between the two countries have always been deep and growing.

The visit of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Qatar (February 21, 2022), which took place in the framework of the expansion of bilateral relations, was the first visit of an Iranian official to the Arab countries of the Persian Gulf, which shows the importance of relations between the two countries.
