Iran's Kish island

Tehran (IP) - Iran's government spokesman says 70 areas of cooperation between Iran and Qatar are on the agenda, one of which is establishing hosting infrastructure in the Iranian islands of Qeshm and Kish for the FIFA 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Iran PressIran News: The 2022 FIFA World Cup is scheduled to be the 22nd running of the FIFA World Cup competition, the quadrennial international men's football championship contested by the national teams of the member associations of FIFA. It is scheduled to take place in Qatar from 21 November to 18 December 2022.

Ali Bahadori-Jahromi said on Tuesday that so far two meetings on the FIFA World Cup have been held under the chairmanship of First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber, with the air and marine cooperation documents being signed between Iran and Qatar.

In his weekly press conference, Bahadori-Jahromi referred to Hajj rituals and pilgrims' issues and said that the Supreme Council of Hajj and Pilgrimage has convened after a long time to dispatch 35,000 to 40,000 Iranian pilgrims to go to Mecca for Hajj.

Sending Iranian pilgrims to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, for performing Hajj rituals was contained in the two past years due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.
