Tehran (IP)- Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesperson called on Muslims to stand united behind the Palestinian cause.

Iran PressIran news: Occupying Israeli militants wounded 224 Palestinians on Friday by attacking fasting Palestinian worshipers in the Al-Aqsa Mosque and occupied Al-Quds.

Palestinians, especially Palestinian youth, were widely present at Al-Aqsa Mosque at the request of Hamas on Friday morning, and the Zionist occupiers invaded Al-Aqsa Mosque, injuring and arresting hundreds of them.

"Deeply outraged by the new atrocities of the Israeli regime. We strongly condemn the desecration of the Al-Aqsa Mosque," Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman, Saeed Khatibzadeh, was commenting on Sheikh Ikrima Sabri's tweet, the leader of the Supreme Islamic Council in Al-Quds, who called the disrespect to Al-Aqsa Mosque amidst the silence of the Islamic countries 'shameful'.

"Reminder that normalization with the apartheid regime of Israel only encourages the oppressor to double down on its brutality," Saeed Khatibzaded underscored.

"Muslims must stand united behind the Palestinian cause," the tweet reads.

"The Ascension of the Messenger of God is being trampled amid the silence and apparent betrayal of Islamic countries, and this is shameful," he noted.
