Aras (IP) - Chief Executive of Aras Free Trade-Industrial Zone Mohsen Nariman in East Azerbaijan said this economic zone has good capacities for export and interaction with Iran's neighboring countries.

Iran PressIran news:  In an interview with IranPress, Mohsen Nariman said in the past 11 months, the zone's trade balance has reached $ 516 million, and this figure shows an increase of more than 80% compared with the same period of the previous year. 

"In the last 11 months, exports of goods from Aras Free Zone have reached $ 615 million and imports have reached $ 99 million," the CEO said.

Stating that Aras Free Zone has become Iran's export terminal, Nariman added: "It is planned that the Aras Free Zone will reach a balance of trade of one billion dollars in the coming years."

"Different types of products from Aras Free Zone are exported to Russia, Iraq, the Republic of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey,Germany and other countries," he noted.

Nariman also stated that the largest glass roof hydroponic greenhouse had been built in the Aras Free Zone, one of the top 10 greenhouses in the world, and its products are exported to different countries.

The CEO of the Aras Free Zone said that the area also has tourist attractions, sometimes with more than 10 million tourists a year.
