Tehran (IP) - The National Salvation Government of Yemen's Ambassador to Tehran says in reaction to the UN Security Council's recent resolution against his country that the international body has lost its competency.

Iran PressIran news: Ebrahim Mohammed Al-Dailami said on Wednesday said that the UN's calling the Yemenis "terrorist" because they defend against the Saudi coalition's invasion has changed nothing.

Al-Dailami said: "The UN Security Council does not care about the continuation of the siege of Yemen and its people, and has even given the green light for the continuation of the aggressors' attacks on Yemen."

He also referred to Russia's vote in favor of the resolution and noted that the Yemeni were highly surprised by such a stance and criticized it.

Last week at the UN Security Council, the United Arab Emirates abstained from voting on a United Nations resolution condemning Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and Russia voted in favor of the anti-Yemeni resolution instead.

With the vote of Russia, the arms embargo on the Yemeni Ansarullah movement was extended.

Backing by the US, the UAE, and some other countries, Saudi Arabia invaded Yemen in March 2015. In which tens of thousands of Yemenis killed and displaced millions.
