Iran (IP) - The Governor of Fars Province, southern Iran, reported a draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Iranian province and Qatar.

Iran PressIran News: Mohammad Hadi Imaniyeh pointed to his meeting with the Iranian Ambassador to Doha, saying cooperation opportunities between Iran's Fars Province and Qatar were discussed at the meeting. 

Referring to the point that Fars Province was close to Qatar, Imaniyeh said there were many joint investment opportunities between the two countries in agriculture, industry, and knowledge-based activities among other areas.

He added that the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar was a good opportunity to establish relations between the two countries.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup will be held in Qatar from November 21 to December 18, 2022, for 28 days.

The Iranian national football team won the match versus the Iraqi national team (1-0) in the seventh week of the 2022 Qatar World Cup qualifiers, enjoying the opportunity to proceed to the Qatar World Cup 2022. 

Iran's football team is participating in the most important world football event for the sixth time.
