Iran Press/ Iran News: The Islamic Consultative Assembly convened a closed-door session on Sunday morning before continuing to review the 1401 budget, during which the speaker of the parliament, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, briefed the lawmakers on the latest developments in the Vienna talks on lifting sanctions.
Seyyed Nizamuddin Mousavi, the senior member of the presiding board of the parliament, added: "Any guarantee and agreement in the Vienna talks must secure the rights of the Iranian people, and any negotiation must also bring economic benefits to the Iranian people."
Referring to the sanctions imposed by the United States and Western countries on Iran in the past years, he added: "In the current negotiations, if we make a commitment somewhere, there must be mutual commitment, which is nothing but the lifting of all sanctions."
The member of the Presiding Board of the Parliament added: "Negotiations started mainly to lift the sanctions However, according to what the Americans had said, these sanctions were ineffective and the mechanism of maximum pressure did not work."
Mousavi reiterated the request of the representatives from the European parties for the term "guarantee" and said: "These include the inherent legal, political and economic guarantees."
