Iran Press/ Middle East: Saudi Arabia launched the devastating military aggression against its southern neighbor in March 2015 in collaboration with a number of its allied states and with arms and logistics support from the US and several Western states.
The aim was to return to power the former Riyadh-backed regime and crush the popular Ansarullah movement, which has been running state affairs without an effective government in Yemen.
Yemeni air defenses on Thursday shot down a spy drone plane belonging to Saudi-led coalition forces over the airspace of Hajjah province, northwestern Yemen.
In a brief statement, Yemeni Armed Forces Spokesman Brigadier General Yehya Sarie said that the Air Defenses managed in the early morning to down a Chinese-made CH4 spy drone plane belonging to the Saudi-led forces while carrying out hostile acts over the airspace of Haradh district.
According to the statement, the drone was targeted with a surface-to-air missile, which has not been announced to the public.
Yemeni forces have over the past months gone from strength to strength against the Saudi-led invaders and left Riyadh and its allies bogged down in Yemen.
