Tehran (IP) – Senior Advisor to the Iranian Foreign Minister, in a phone call with United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg, called lifting siege as a prelude to solve Yemen's crisis.

Iran PressIran News: Pointing out that the Yemenis make the final decision on the fate of their country, Ali-Asghar Khaji stated: "The lifting of the oppressive siege will be the prelude to a political solution to the Yemeni crisis."

He underlined the role of the United Nations in the Yemeni crisis, noting that "distrust" has hampered the progress of the talks. He pointed out that rebuilding trust should be accompanied by practical measures, especially in humanitarian affairs.

Hans Grundberg also said that by assessing different points of view, he intends to consider the concerns of various Yemeni groups in his plans.
