Vienna (IP) - Senior negotiators from Iran and the three European member states of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action and Deputy EU Foreign Policy Chief met in Vienna on Thursday morning to continue intensive diplomatic consultations.

Iran PressEurope: The meeting comes before the end of the New Year holidays and a three-day break in talks to lift sanctions.

Before the meeting, a bilateral meeting was held between Ali Bagheri Kani, Iran's chief negotiator, and Deputy EU Foreign Policy Chief, Enrique Mora. At the same time, discussions at the expert level are conducted bilaterally and multilaterally.

The eighth round of Vienna talks began last Monday with the Joint Commission meeting on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, and discussions continue with a focus on lifting sanctions. The vast majority of delegations emphasize the need to continue the talks until a final agreement is reached to revive the 2015 nuclear deal.

However, as the differences between the parties diminish, the hope of reaching a final agreement in this round of talks has increased significantly.

Last night, members of the P4 + 1 in Vienna reviewed the latest status of the talks. Russia's chief negotiator, Mikhail Ulyanov, tweeted that all participants welcomed the positive trend and practical atmosphere of the ongoing talks.

The delegations are determined to continue the talks until a final result is reached, but due to the beginning of the new year holiday in Europe, the talks will be suspended for three days from Friday and will be followed up from Monday.

The Islamic Republic of Iran stressed that if the two sides continue the negotiations that have begun at this stage in good faith, a good agreement can be reached for all parties.
